Richard Allen, director of Renew Hamilton, will be among the guest speakers at a community event hosted by the Hamilton Sustainability Professionals Network. The event will focus on the theme of urban regeneration and touch on a range of topics from architectural design and construction to heritage conservation and the future of public spaces.

It will take place on Wednesday February 25 from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome.

Allen will look at Hamilton’s renewal performance over the past five years to measure our city’s progress and identify new goals.

“At the 2010 Hamilton Economic Summit, we talked about the possibility of Hamilton becoming the revitalization capital of Canada” said Allen. “Let’s examine how far we’ve come and what lies ahead.”

The other speakers are David Premi, principal of david premi Architects inc. (dp.Ai) and Judy Lam, senior business development consultant, Urban Renewal Section of the Economic Development Department, City of Hamilton. The discussion will be moderated by Graham McNally, co-founder of the architectural office Toms + McNally Design based in Hamilton.
