Here’s a 15 minute audio recording of Geoff Cape speaking at the Chamber’s 7th Hamilton Economic Summit held in June 2014.
Cape is the founder and CEO of Evergreen, a Toronto-based not for profit focused on creating sustainable, green cities worldwide.
Using the story of the Evergreen Brick Works environmental centre as a backdrop, Cape talks about what’s possible through engaging citizens and helping them turn great ideas into tangible actions that transform communities for the better.
We’re all part of what Cape calls the “urban century” – an age of risk and opportunity related to imagining and building cities that are sustainable, efficient and livable. He envisions Hamilton becoming a winner in the quest to link sustainable city building practices with long term economic success and resiliency.
Cape also uses his talk to announce an invitation for Evergreen to work in the Hamilton community on grassroots initiatives that will help advance urban renewal.
